Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) is a pay-for-performance program, as opposed to fee-for-service (FFS), that’s focused on quality, value, and accountability. MACRA set up two new payment tracks, Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Alternative Payment Model (APM), collectively referred to as the Quality Payment Program (QPP).
